The Volvo EX90 made its North American introduction at CES this year. It was the first time the Swedish automaker debuted its new electric model in the region.

Set to come out in 2024, the EX90 will be equipped with lidar, cameras, and radar to supply data for Google's newly revealed HD map capability.

The Volvo EX90 and Polestar 3 will be the first two models available featuring Google's new technology.

The Volvo EX90 SUV is nearly ideal and its $80K price tag may be worth it. One would think the transformative headlight were design by Iron Man, this is an instant head turner. It's enough to spill your morning coffee.

Our Take: If one can justified the Tesla Model X $100K+ Price-Tag, The Volvo EX90 is the easily choice SUV buyers can make.

Boasting a 111kWh battery and two permanent magnet electric motors with 370 kW (496 hp) and 671 lb. ft. of torque, it offers exceptional power combined with the newly designed chassis for an exquisite driving experience.

The Volvo EX90 is taking safety to the next level thanks to lidar, cameras and radars which work together to get an understanding of the car's environment. To develop our assisted driving technologies further and eventually reach full autonomy, we need a method that can detect and recognise surroundings in close proximity as well as what lies ahead, beyond angles and curves.

Google HD Maps have been a long-term project with Volvo Cars and Polestar. Recently, the two car makers announced the introduction of their Google HD map technology to the Volvo EX90 and Polestar 3 - making them among the first to benefit from this highly detailed and constantly updated source of road information.
