F1 Champion Jenson Button Set to Unveil the Lotus Evija Hypercar at Prestigious Motorsports

Jenson Button, the F1 World Champion unveiled his Lotus Evija hypercar - an all-electric vehicle - at ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’ on Friday 18 August. Its awe-inspiring design and unique colour scheme pay tribute to the racer’s 2009 Championship-winning Brawn GP car.

Moreover, it has a power output of 2,039 PS; higher than originally announced; making it the most powerful series production road car ever. Additionally, The Quail will also host the unveiling of another Lotus world premiere - a performance car inspired by Lotus’s racing legacy.

Jenson's Evija is as customised as they come. He chose the specifications in consultation with Lotus Design, and it sports a unique colourscheme paying tribute to his 2009 F1 World Championship-winning Brawn GP car - Arctic White with Verve Yellow and Carbon Black accents.

To further commemorate this influential season, the deployable door mirror housing displays the number 22 - Jenson's race number. It is replicated on the interior door lining too. On top of that, an aluminium strip running vertically through the seat centre has been laser-etched with the date and location of all 15 of Jenson's F1 race wins between 2006-2012 (including those which brought him to victory in 2009).

This makes it the world's most powerful series production road car to date. Other specifications include a 93 kWh battery capacity, 1,704 Nm of torque with vectoring as well as 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration within three seconds. The speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h (217 mph). Battery life is rated at 346 km (215 miles) and can be fully juiced up in 18 minutes using a 350 kW charger. Finally, this sleek vehicle weighs in at 1,887 kg and stands 4,459 mm long by 2,000 mm wide and 1,122 mm tall.
